Angela Petrocchi
Proprietor and head of practice, Angela Petrocchi is a Swiss physiotherapist. She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and a registered member of the Health Professionals Council, with seventeen years experience in the treatment of patients, lecturing students and coaching athletes.
She qualified in Switzerland in 1988 and worked as head of department at Triemli City Hospital, the second major hospital in Zurich, until 1999.
Trained in manual therapy in addition to many other therapeutic techniques, Angela specialised in sports physiotherapy, commuting to Germany in 1997 to train in this field. She also spent 6 months working in California
Arriving in the North East of England in July 2000, Angela worked as head of the physiotherapy team of a busy, well-recognised physiotherapy clinic in Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne for two years.
Angela combines her high level of skills and professional training with a personal background and experience in the sporting and dancing world.
In 1988 after more than ten years of competition in athletics Angela became, the team physiotherapist for TVU – Zurich, a Swiss A division women’s athletic team, accompanying them to various national and international meetings. During the 1997/98 & 99 seasons in Switzerland she was also responsible for the weight and conditioning training of the female sprinters.
Since 1994 she has played indoor volleyball at regional championships level both in Switzerland and now in the UK.
During the winter of 1996/1997 Angela was a member of a Swiss bob sled team in the Women’s World Championships.
She also attended the summer junior training camps of the German Basketball National Team as their physiotherapist.
She currently enjoys playing tennis, beach and indoor volleyball, jogging and going to the gym.
