Maureen Manning

Maureen gained extensive experience in reception and medical duties during the 20years she spent with a large medical practice in North Tyneside. The diverse nature of her role brought her into contact with a range of healthcare professionals from within the NHS and private sector. This experience has enabled her to develop a patient focussed approach to her work.

Looking for an opportunity to use her skills in a new and challenging environment, Maureen joined the team at swissphysio in the summer of 2006 where she is enjoying the varied nature of her new role.

She will be pleased to assist with all aspects of reception work, including making appointments and dealing with general enquiries.

News

What most people don’t know is that a dysfunction of the TMJ, whatever the cause, can be the origin of many aches and pains in the neck, face and head.

Heavy and unusual physical work can cause sore muscles and a heavy feeling in the lower back, neck, arms and even legs. This feeling usually is more noticeable when we try to move after a period of rest and disappears when we start moving around and it is usually forgotten about after a couple of days.A hot bath and a massage will help to make you feel better and get ready for another hard day.

We are pleased to announce that we are running courses of six Pilates classes at swissphysio on Thursdays starting on Thursday 24th April. Pilates is a form of exercise which focuses on the “core “or postural muscles. The slow and controlled movements help to strengthen the muscles which support the spine, which in turn keep the body balanced. Carried out correctly, Pilates can help to relieve back pain and improve abdominal muscle strength.
