Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise which focuses on the “core “or postural muscles. The slow and controlled movements help to strengthen the muscles which support the spine, which in turn keep the body balanced. Carried out correctly, Pilates can help to relieve back pain and improve abdominal muscle strength.
Also it helps to reshape your body which will become longer, leaner and more toned and will improve your posture.

Who should come to this class?

Perhaps you have been advised by a health professional that Pilates may be beneficial to you.
Perhaps you have already tried Pilates and found it difficult to “feel” the exercises.
You might have gone to a class where the number attending were large and found it difficult to follow what the teacher was asking you to do.
You might just want to find out more about this method of exercise and would like to try it in a small group setting.

About the class

There will be a maximum of six partecipants. The classes will follow a workshop style, where the instructor will introduce you to Pilates and its benefits with a practical demonstration. This will provide an opportunity for questions and clarification which will ensure that the exercises are working for you. Once this is established, the class will follow a more traditional flowing style with music and relaxation elements.

News

What most people don’t know is that a dysfunction of the TMJ, whatever the cause, can be the origin of many aches and pains in the neck, face and head.

Heavy and unusual physical work can cause sore muscles and a heavy feeling in the lower back, neck, arms and even legs. This feeling usually is more noticeable when we try to move after a period of rest and disappears when we start moving around and it is usually forgotten about after a couple of days.A hot bath and a massage will help to make you feel better and get ready for another hard day.

We are pleased to announce that we are running courses of six Pilates classes at swissphysio on Thursdays starting on Thursday 24th April. Pilates is a form of exercise which focuses on the “core “or postural muscles. The slow and controlled movements help to strengthen the muscles which support the spine, which in turn keep the body balanced. Carried out correctly, Pilates can help to relieve back pain and improve abdominal muscle strength.
