Reiki

Reiki is the expression of universal life force energy and is one of the oldest forms of healing originating in Tibet. It was rediscovered by a Japanese priest, Dr Mikao Usui during the 19th Century.

Reiki is a safe, natural therapy that promotes health and well-being working on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level.by harmonising the energy that flows through you.  Reiki helps our own healing systems to work to their own potential. It aidsd the release of energy blocks caused by the stresses of life restoring the body to a state of harmony and relaxation. It boosts and balances the supply of our life force energy  improving health and proving a general feeling of well being.

A Reiki treatment combines chanelling universal life energy with the warmth, reassurance and healing power of the human touch, promoting a feeling of well-being and relaxation.

The treatment lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. At the first session the practitioner takes the history of your health and on subsequent visits she makes time to discuss your progress before starting the treatment.

You remain fully clothed and the practitioner simply places her hands on you in a series of positions. Reiki energy always goes to where it is most needed.
Reiki promotes relaxation and reduces stress. It works on the body mind and spirit levels.

What most people don’t know is that a dysfunction of the TMJ, whatever the cause, can be the origin of many aches and pains in the neck, face and head.

Heavy and unusual physical work can cause sore muscles and a heavy feeling in the lower back, neck, arms and even legs. This feeling usually is more noticeable when we try to move after a period of rest and disappears when we start moving around and it is usually forgotten about after a couple of days.A hot bath and a massage will help to make you feel better and get ready for another hard day.

We are pleased to announce that we are running courses of six Pilates classes at swissphysio on Thursdays starting on Thursday 24th April. Pilates is a form of exercise which focuses on the “core “or postural muscles. The slow and controlled movements help to strengthen the muscles which support the spine, which in turn keep the body balanced. Carried out correctly, Pilates can help to relieve back pain and improve abdominal muscle strength.
