Graham Smith, a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registered with the Health Professional Council, qualified in Aberdeen as a in 1991. Since then he has worked both privately and within the NHS in North East England. His experience ranges from treatment of chronic problems through to rehabilitation of the elite athletes.
Graham has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of fascial restrictions and their impact on musculoskeletal problems. This inclused Myofascial and Viscerofascial techniques. This holistic approach is very gentle but extremely profound in its results, as it deals with the spacific origin of the problem. Although Fascial Therapy can be used for all musculoskeletal problems it is particularly useful for chronic symptoms eg old whiplash injuries that have failed to respond to other treatments.(see "Services, Fascial Treatment").
Graham is the lead therapist for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy clinical interest group on this subject and has lectured both nationally and internationally on Fascial Therapy and is involved in continued research in this area.
Outside of physiotherapy Graham enjoys martial arts and swimming which he has enjoyed at National and International level.
